Miracles have been told in all religions, but they are not convincing proofs for rational human beings. They need rational proofs and also the really decent living of the believers.
However, all these three things are not the evident truth. Miracles, rational arguments and even decent living don’t fully attract sincere human hearts and make them new, strong and spiritual. Because many of those things can be fabricated, disguised, fictionalized by the fanatics, the lunatics and the cheaters!
The real proof in the Religion of God is His creative Word. Whether men ignore, reject or oppose it, the divine Word still triumphantly affects the world and makes it a better and better place of living for all mankind.

Of course the miracles were performed so that we may know and understand God. Jesus was and is His surrogate for human kind. We share in the likeness of God and are to behave as Jesus did. God sent His son to allow us to have access to God directly.
