The song "Poor Wayfaring Stranger" holds a famous place in history, being so old that it's uncertain exactly where the tune has come from. Many people focus on the Old Irish - individuals of the Appalachian or Catskills variety. An additional explanation that's regarded as a strong probability is that the track originated from spirituals and that the source has been intentionally disguised. Nevertheless, that hypothesis is just one of several.

If you have personal encounter with someone who operates just a little bit of Holy Spirit anointing, you will experience the impact and wonder why God would gives such level of power and authority to a weak and broken man. Some would be tempted to think of the minister higher than they ought to. This is wrong and may cause a lot of trouble especially when the minister fails to behavior like Jesus (which happens all the time).

The bible teaches us to contend to walk in the fullness of the prophetic anointing. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit to walking in Holiness. We also need His anointing to walking prophetic ministries like healing the sick, casting out demons and prophesying in order to demonstrate the power of the gospel we preach. True apostolic faith is what we need and we need to have biblical ideas, biblical lifestyles and biblical experience. Like fire requiring oxygen, fuel and temperature to burn, we cannot afford to give up any one of the three elements! Let's look at how we could contend for the fullness of the prophetic anointing in a biblical way.

We see sometimes in charismatic Christian meetings, people acting vigorously yelling and rushing to the stage and trying to touch the preacher, hoping to get some prophetic anointing for themselves. It is true that the bible teaches every one of us to earnestly desire to prophesy. But being prophetic is much more than being charismatic. There is something more than dreams and visions and even the proclaiming of revelation. There are some meaning and functions for the Church of Christ to be prophetic which we should understand while earnestly desiring to participate in its prophetic ministry.
